If you just want to transfer specific save data files (for example, if you’re moving them to another Wii U console), you can do that too: Choose a location to save the backup file (either on the Wii U internal storage or on an external USB storage device). Open System Settings from the HOME Menu. This is useful if you ever need to format your system memory or replace your Wii U console. System memory backup lets you create a full backup of your Wii U system memory, including game saves, settings, and downloaded content. There are two ways to do this: either by using the system memory backup feature in System Settings, or by transferring save data to an external storage device.
